We'll spoil the whole thing right away: our former heavy smoker has been doing really well with his smoking. This is already evident when Vejpkollen talks to Ronny during the winter. He has, as he says, fallen there at some point - but it has been more circumstances than a pure cigarette craving.
- Yes, but it has gone well actually! I've hardly touched cigarettes on a daily basis, but sometimes I forget vejpen to work, or have smoked a cigarette if I've been to a party.
Still not able to geek out
Ronny Nilsson received his vejp kit at the end of last summer - and Vejpkollen has since followed his journey from afar with cheers and good humour.
As made abundantly clear in the previous article, technology and everything around vejpanding is Ronny's Achilles heel. He simply has no desire to get "a degree in e-cigarettes" as he called it, to keep going.
- I guess I'm still not a geek, but I buy what I got once. I can't be bothered to research it much more. Now it was blue lollipop, and it's good - so I've continued with it. I tried some other flavours, but it wasn't as good, so I went back," says Ronny in early 2025.
- "I've bought disposable vejps a few times when I forgot the vejp at home," he continues.
His craving for smoking seemed to have disappeared, although he did smoke the odd cigarette, as mentioned.
- It's been going really well, and I'm cutting down on nicotine all the time too. I feel I don't need it as much, and it's mostly the habit I need to quit.
So what nicotine strength are you down to now?
- Now you ask such a physics question again, haha. But if it says that I should put in two bottles of nicotine, I have about one instead.

- I'm actually a bit surprised, because it was just like I was told before: that first you just want it to taste like a cigarette, and then you don't want that at all. Why would you want smoke flavour when there is blue lollipop?
After the New Year, it turns out that Ronny hasn't just gone smoke-free himself - he's also spread the word.
- My father has multiple illnesses and has always smoked. But when he had to go through a major operation this autumn he was not allowed to smoke. This was shortly after I got the vejp last summer - so I bought him a bunch of disposable vejps and that has worked well too actually! He has smoked both longer and much more than me.
It's springtime for punk and vejp
Here we take a small time jump and jump forward to May 2025. Ronny reports that everything has continued to go well, with a few continued cigarette steps here and there. Among other things, a punk festival in Malmö where it became cigarettes again instead.
But is Yellow Blend really that fucking punk Ronny? Isn't it more like smoking mum under a fan?
- Haha, but smoke mum under the fan is still as punk as it gets, right?
One problem that has arisen with vejpandet is a combination of forgetfulness and the fact that Ronny lives in the Scanian countryside.
- I keep forgetting to order that essential oil you're supposed to keep in all the time. Because I live here to the left of the end of the world so I can't get it any other way either.
This meant that at first there were a lot of disposable vejps at the petrol station instead, but then he found a new way.
- I have started with one of these "Lost Mary" where you just buy new podcasts. It feels a bit better so you don't have to throw away batteries all the time. It's very convenient, but there's a bit of a shortage of flavours. At least at my local petrol station. They have three - and all of them are unfortunately shitty.
There may be some confusion here. "Lost Mary" is a specific brand, but Ronny is referring to the variant with interchangeable pre-filled pods.
- I still order oils for others when I remember. It is very much cheaper.
"Stupid in the head"
You told me about your father last time. How has he been doing?
- Well, he managed to quit smoking before the operation, but then he started again a little. But he smokes exactly three cigarettes a day now, at special times - and then he does vejp the rest of the time.
Ronny's father is 77 years old and has been smoking since he was 15 and unfortunately suffers from several different diseases. The switch to vejp did not go smoothly for him at first.
- At first he hated it. He thought it was stupid in the head. But, then he got used to it anyway and now he runs his cola ice. But he runs his disposables and would never figure out how to mix anything himself.
Road pan construction influencer
A major change in Ronny's personal life since the last article is that he has gone from being a self-employed carpenter to a permanent employee of a construction company. On the bigger sites, with more colleagues, he has realised that he is far from alone with his vejp.
- There are many who have quit smoking and gone over actually. Especially among the younger guys in their 25s and 20s.
